POROROK - CHARACTER ROSTER
The characters in the cast of "POROROK" represent Amazonian culture, incorporating elements from folklore, traditions, indigenous peoples' cosmogony, and the region's fauna and flora. Created for an MMORPG, they offer various class evolution options typical of RPGs, each with distinct gameplay and unique outcomes in the character's storyline. This diversity not only enriches the player's experience but also delves deeply into the nuances and stories that make the Amazon such a fascinating and mysterious place.

Two characters have been developed for the game, at the moment: Kuri - the Water Dancer inspired by "The Legend of The Pink Dolphin" and the Carimbó rhytmn; and Ybi - The Earth Mage that represents Marajoara Art and Traditions.

KURI - THE WATER DANCER

Kuri, the Water dancer, was developed based on the legend of the pink river dolphin. His dance style is inspired by Carimbó, a traditional Amazonian rhythm, while his class evolution options include "Charming" and "Rhytmn Master," each possessing different abilities and specialties within the game.

DEVELOPMENT & CONCEPT ART

KURI REFERENCES

[ENG] The character Kuri is inspired by the Legend of the Pink River Dolphin, where it is said that the animal transforms into a man in white clothes to join local festivities and seduce the women of the village, disappearing without a trace after impregnating them. Elements of Carimbó, a typical dance from Pará, were also added to the character. The weapons that the character wields in combat - the Maracas, the Spear-Maracas, and the Curimbó - are musical instruments used to compose this Amazonian musical style.

YBI - THE EARTH MAGE

As a Ceramist, Ybi embodies the principles of Marajoara artistic creation, and her evolutions, "Artisan" and "Necromancer," explore different aspects of the beliefs and practices of the Marajoara people.

DEVELOPMENT & CONCEPT ART

YBI REFERENCES

[ENG] The concept of Ybi combines the archetype of a Mage from RPG games with the traditional art of Marajoara Ceramics. Her control over the earth element highlights the clay sculpture techniques practiced by the Marajoara People to create utensils and ornaments for everyday use. Additionally, her visual elements are inspired by Joanes-type ceramics, featuring bold red and/or black lines and patterns on a white surface. The class 'Necromancer' is inspired by the Marajoaras' practice of ancestor worship, where human remains were placed in large Funerary Urns.
